Couples, families or friends symbolize their love for each other with affixing a padlock to a fence, or bridge.
In Chicago the DuSable Bridge gives home to numerous love locks. The bascule bridge – which crosses the Chicago River – was opened in 1920 to traffic. It carries the Michigan Avenue to the downtown of Chicago.
It is located in historically important area. Many beautiful sculpture and plaques commemorate the historical events.
