Brisbane is the capital and most populous city in the Australian State of Queensland and also the third most populous city in Australia. The city is located inside a bend of the Brisbane River. The Kurilpa Bridge is one of the bridges in Brisbane which spans the Brisbane River. It was opened in 2009. The pedestrian and bicycle bridge connects Kurilpa Point in South Brisbane with Tank Street, located in the downtown. In 2011 at the World Architecture Festival it was judged as the ‘World Transport Building of the Year’. Besides the award it is something more. The tradition of love locking found its place on this bridge. Placing a padlock usually to a bridge’s railings with your beloved one symbolizes the eternal and everlasting love for the other. This tradition lures thousands of tourist and citizens all over the world to seal their love. This habit showed up in Brisbane as well, and spread quickly on the bridge’s railing.
