The Brooklyn Bridge in New York City is well-known around the world. The suspension bridge was built in 1883, which makes it one of the oldest in the USA. It spans the East River, connects Manhattan with Brooklyn. The romantic tradition of attaching padlocks to bridges or fences in public spaces took over the Brooklyn Bridge around the 2000’s.
The bridge in itself is also an interesting tourist attraction with its enormous size, its full length is almost two kilometers. In addition to the fascinating view to New York City you can express your love. If you are lucky enough maybe you can see the Statue of Liberty as well.
Bring a padlock, affix it anywhere on the bridge and throw away the key! It is definitely a romantic gesture to show to your girlfriend or boyfriend.
