Rome is the capital city of Italy. A week is hardly enough to explore the cities treasures.
As in Europe almost everywhere, the love locking found its way to Rome as well.
If you would like to attach your padlock – symbolizing your eternal love – you can do that on Ponte Milvio (Milvian Bridge). It is located in northern Rome and spans the Tiber. The bridge itself has a long history; its constructions ended in 115 BC. Naturally since then it went through a lot of changes.
The couples affixed their love locks to the lamppost on the bridge, then throwing the keys behind them. However, in 2007 the lamppost practically collapsed, due to the weight of the padlocks.
But there is nothing to worry about. An iron rail was placed for the lovers.
